For some construction classes, the Rating Bureau sets wage thresholds for which different rates apply due to significant differences claims and claims costs rates for workers who earn less and more than the threshold.
Typically higher wage workers in these classes have fewer claims and less costly claims compared to their counterparts who are paid less than the threshold.
The Rating Bureau updates the threshold when it notes changes in these costs.
• Code 5190/5140 (Electrical wiring –within buildings): Threshold increases to $32 per hour from $30 per hour.
• Code 5201(1)/5205(1) (Concrete or Cement Work – pouring or finishing of concrete sidewalks, driveways, patios, curbs or gutters): Threshold increases to $25 per hour from $24 per hour.
• Code 5201(2)/5205(2) (Concrete or Cement Work – pouring or finishing of concrete floor slabs, poured in place and on the ground, and concrete slab-type foundations, for other than concrete buildings or structural steel buildings of multi-story construction): Threshold increases to $25 per hour from $24 per hour.
• Code 5403/5432 (Carpentry – including the installation of interior trim, builders finish, doors and cabinet work in connection therewith): Threshold increases to $32 per hour from $30 per hour.
• Code 5446/5447 (Wallboard Application – Within buildings): Threshold increases to $34 per hour from $33 per hour.
• Code 5474(1)/5482(1) (Painting, Decorating or Paper Hanging – including shop operations): Threshold increases to $26 per hour from $24 per hour.
• Code 5474(2)/5482(2) (Waterproofing – other than roofing or subaqueous work when performed as a separate operation not a part of or incidental to any other operation): Threshold increases to $26 per hour from $24 per hour.
• Code 5474(3)/5482(3) (Painting – water, oil or gasoline storage tanks): Threshold increases to $26 per hour from $24 per hour.
• Code 5484/5485 (Plastering or Stucco Work): Threshold increases to $29 per hour from $27 per hour.
• Code 5552/5553 (Roofing – all kinds): Threshold increases to $25 per hour from $23 per hour.
• Code 5632/5633 (Steel Framing – light gauge): Threshold increases to $32 per hour from $30 per hour.
• Code 6218(1)/6220(1) (Excavation – N.O.C): Threshold increases to $31 per hour from $30 per hour.
• Code 6218(2)/6220(2) (Grading Land – N.O.C): Threshold increase to $31 per hour from $30 per hour.
• Code 6218(3)/6220(3) (Land Leveling – grading farm lands): Threshold increases to $31 per hour from $30 per hour.
• Code 6307/6308 (Sewer Construction – all operations): Threshold increases to $31 per hour from $30 per hour.
• Code 6315(1)/6316(1) (Water Mains or Connections Construction): Threshold increases to $31 per hour from $30 per hour.
• Code 6315(2)/6316(2) (Gas Mains or Connections Construction): Threshold increases to $31 per hour from $30 per hour.
